And another part of forfour history has been sold...
« on: July 13, 2012, 03:18:41 PM »

The Nedcar plant has been sold for a staggering one Euro! And could possibly be used to build the next gen Bini.

Yeah...I had heard rumours that Bee Em Wubbleyou have thoughts on bringing
out a 'mini' Mini....roughly the size of the original BMC Mini rather than the bloated
Maxi sized goliath they currently produce.
And talking of which, I can't see the point of the new coupé version. It's like it can't
decide if it's a saloon car with 2 seats or a sports car that got squashed front to back.
And as to the convertible version !  Ha ! !  A brightly coloured German over engineered
skip on wheels with a tarpaulin cover more like.

Oh !...And what ya got against the Countryman then......

Not that I'd have any of them as you can;t get 4 full sized adults
in them for more than 20 miles, and if one of the adults happpens
to be over 5ft 8in then the one sitting behind as to be under 5ft 6ins
as there's no rioom for anyone with longer legs.

Does anyone remember the Frank Cannon private detective series on
Tv some 15 years ago?  He drove a 21ft long 2 door yank tank with
doors 8ft long but with less space inside than a Ford Capri.  Well the
BMW Mini is the Germanised British equivalent of that.....but smaller.
Oh and apparently there are still some issues with the SCooper.
Open the bonnet and there's no empty space or room to even put
a bag of crisps in. And as for changing the plugs.....yeah right.

Mitsubishi announced it would stop producing cars in the Netherlands. Dutch coach manufacturer VDL announced it would acquire the factory. VDL entered negotiations with BMW which resulted in the announcement that certain [[MINI|Mini] models would be produced in the Limburg factory from 2014 onwards.
