I hope that disguise is 'heavy', otherwise it looks like its a cross between a Clio and a Twingo...
a Clingo....or a Twinlio....

Hmmmm....so it's to be a 2 door then eh ?  Immediately that's a backward step and an
instant sales loser compared to our model. And it takes very little to see that it won't have
any boot.... especially with it being rear engined.  Mistake number 2 then (no boot space).
(If they do ever make a 'Brabus' version it'll not be able to hold a candle to our version.)

And MB have finally managed to put a gap between it and the A-Class...which means the
competition it will have is with the VW Up (or SEAT/Skoda equivalent), or the Chevy Spark
(aka Matiz).  All are 2 door.  I wonder if they'll price it right ?  Knowing MB....Nah, no chance.

Anyway, I'd rather have the VW/SEAT/Skoda.

Not true, all the above are available as 5 door!

Yep! I can see the forfour being a city car with 5 doors and the fortwo being the 3 door version. I reckon it will be all down to marketing to tell the difference, I could be totally wrong though!

No longer will the forfour be a supermini/compact, that market is too full now with well established cars. The city car is where the money is, look at the Adam, Up/CityiGo/Mii, 500/Panda etc all flying off the shelves.

I do miss the funkyness of the forfour but more than happy with the more practical and solidly built Corsa.

Apologies for the 2 door (3 actually as you can't in all honesty call a tailgate a door?)
posting I made earlier.  I wasn't aware that the Up/Mii/CitiGo could be had with 5
'openers' (4 doors and a tailgate) until after I had posted...then I thought...'wotever'  ::)

But yeah....the small car market is already more than well catered for....so once again
this looks like another MB/Smart flop....too little too and waaayyyy too dam late.

only just been able to see the link as mobile device takes you straight to a crappy mobile site :(

anyway, saw this pic a while back and while it may be the forfour mechanics, i very much doubt this is the body or even chassis.

the trouble is, the car will have to be more mainstream than the previous forfour as, in my opinion, the styling was too much ahead of its time. now it fits in with the modern cars around but 8 years ago, it was just too much!

looking forward to it but i'm not gonna buy one just because its a forfour (sorry)

i'll probably be off down the VAG route or mazda mps - but nothing out there even slightly takes my fancy at the moment! i'd rather buy another mk1 forfour ;)

Problem with a lot of cars now is that following all the mergers in the industry, they all look the same!

Even our forfours, in dim light at a distance I think I see one and it's a corsa (from the back) or a 207 (from the front).

Still, I'll be interested to see what they come up with. If I were to buy a city car it'd be a fortwo over the alternatives, but only because I've had a taste of the quality of the build. As an outsider though I'd have little interest in the smart brand. It's only by accident that I find myself in this fold.

Unfortunately my background in the Nissan community has taught me to be cautious of anything that Renault have had a hand in.

ill be keeping an open mind with the new forfour. ill wait to see what it looks like and then make my mind up.

when i first saw the forfour i liked the front but wasnt too keen on the back, but it eventually grew on me, much the same way as my old city coupe grew on me.

if its not to my liking then i would consider buying a new car BUT keeping my forfour also. no point in selling it as its getting close to 100,000 mile mark and its still going strong

What you are seeing bears no resemblance to the actual product, it's a disguise.
