the offending bracket and electrical connectors
« on: July 22, 2013, 09:57:22 AM »

when diagnosing my brake switch i saw a bracket above the clutch pedal which looked similar to the bracket for the brake switch above the brake pedal

iv fitted my old switch to make it noticable.

while i was there i noticed 2 electrical connectors near/above the accelerator pedal.

Anyone know what they are for ?  or connect to ?

They both look like audio connectors

Yes it does :)

Didn't note the varying orientation of the connections

it seams my forfour is pre-wired for many thinks. it was pre-wired for the rear speakers at the 'B' post. evil confirmed that i have the wiring for heated seats, it just makes me wonder what other extra connectors are hidden and not used. the russian EPC says it was built in 2004 and it was registered in december 2005, but it doesnt tell me the spec of my car and what might be pre-wired

My old forfour was 'born' July 2004 and was first registered in Sept 2005. The car had its birth certificate. You will find most pre 2006 cars will have most of the wiring place, along with the cosmetic enhancements. It was after this they started stripping back the costs.

its still making me wonder though. its just that my passion was of 'low' spec when i got it, no dash pods, no rear speakers, no center swivel arm rest etc. all of which i have fitted myself.

and considering the pulse was spec'd up as it was cheaper the buy than a passion new
