That's really interesting... Only thing I'd worry about is the fact there are three number positions... It's almost telling you to lose your licence!

Weirdly and off the wall here... could it be a Japanese/Aus/NZ edition? Just wondering cos they may have different requirements.

I was thinking that maybe you use the buttons on the top of the speedo/rev counter binnacle to set the speed ?
Bu then again...where is the 'engage' and 'disengage' or 'resume' buttons that you would need to use for it ?
Weird one here all right.

I don't know if Kate of Digitech (formerly Wellsmart) had cruise control on her ForFour when she had it...
It had loads of other stuff.....so maybe give her a call and ask. (Checkout their website for opening hours
as I seem to remember they're closed on Sundays and Mondays).
She might be able to assistance you even if not.

Marcin, I've taken the tail end of your original 'Introduction' post from where you go a bit off topic and refer to the cruise control,
and merged it with this existing topic to avoid duplication of subjects/posts.

Right...web address for Digitech is :-  www.digitec-ltd.co.uk

What are the stalks exactly, I do not understand this word, are these buttons on both sides of my steering wheel or to control aircondition,heat,temp...or anything can do picture and show how it looks in my smart with probably "cruise control" ??? I know the Netherlands cars exported or made there always got a lot of factory fitted options...and this one is from there...even got proof where was bought...

The stalks are the things that stick out on each side behind the steering wheel....
normally the left stalk controls the direction indicators and the lights (side, dip/main lights),
and on the right stalk it controls the windscreen wipers (front and back).

Perhaps either one or both of your stalks have 'extra' functions.
My car has headlight washers, and they work (when the wipers are on) by pressing the button 'in'
on the end of the left stalk. ForFours that do not have headlight washers do not have that button.
So...as I have said...maybe your right stalk has some extra functions....
Perhaps if you took a close up picture of both stalks then we could maybe see if there are any differences.
And if you do that...why not take a picture of the steering controls too.....every little helps...so they say.  ;D

A bit of an update to a rather old thread ....

Fitted an MDC cruise control unit to my CDi manual ForFour a week or so ago.  Fitting was (relatively) straightforward though not trivial.  Translated the instructions from German using Google translate and they worked fine ....

So far very pleased with the results.  It would have benefited from some user instructions to understand the system a bit better, but I found some instructions for the FourTwo unit online and although there are some differences they gave me the info I needed.

As far as I'm concerned it has given my relatively old car a new lease of life - I had been wondering about swapping it as I now have a longish motorway commute and I really wanted a car with a cruise control - so although it isn't cheap at over £300, it's a bargain compared to changing cars!

G'day there,
My brother had a long time ago a FIAT 600 with cruise control,
it was a cable to the throttle pedal and a lever on the steering colom that could be moved/set when at the right speed.
It was a very simple setup but it worked ok.
Greetings,
Eddie.
