Damaged front splitter
« on: January 23, 2017, 09:15:46 AM »

As title states I have a damaged front splitter happened at Goodwood last year. I'm not sure if it is repairable or needs replacing. This is another thing to do on the to do list with the centre air vent and stone chips lol

Got a photograph of the damage? If it is a split, it may very well be salvageable.

Sorry to hear about the Brab front splitter.....

How damaged are we talking here ?
And have you got all the 'bits' ?

I am aware that the rear splitter/diffuser gets broken easily
either when parking or running over hedgehogs late at night
on unlit country lanes...LOL.
And I am also aware that quite a few members have tried various
different glues/adhesives in an attempt to repair them. (Ask brulaw)

Most if not ALL of the adhesives have failed as the material of
the diffuser won't 'take' to them, however, there is one that so far
appears to do the job......Gorilla Glue.
Use it sparingly, as in just enough to do the job, as it dries to a
rather yucky yellowy brown turd like colour.... ::)
But it can be filed/sanded if there is any excess.

Oh and if the split/joint can be braced from behind, all the better.

If it's just cracked, then fix it with Gorilla glue.....

Yes that is the right part/link you posted for a front lower spoiler....
but in addition to coughing up £99.99 for it you would also
need to have it painted...circa £200....and get the 3M double
sided tape to fix it on with that goes all across the upper top
folded lip.  Then of course you have to transfer both lower
fake grills and their fittings to the new one after painting...
and then 'hang' it on the car.  Seems simple enough...
if you know what you're doing and have someone there
to help/assist you.
(See/read my Guide on fitting it...as you MUST have or make
'pull tabs' for the double sided tape when fitting the spoiler
  on the car.)
