I was starting to get prepared to just live with this problem, but after I disconnected the battery to sort out the gear stick problem I have decided that's not really optimal!

However, my gear stick now recentres itself so that is one thing I am happy about this weekend!

I am going away for three or four weeks for work tomorrow so any further work will have to wait! New clutch on my return so that is something I am excited about! Only the heater controls and instrument panel to sort out now...

Irrelevant of what the needle says - is the car running ok?

I’d say the needle has become detached from the pin
