A bit of direction
« on: December 13, 2021, 03:45:11 PM »

Now I know I'm not the sharpest blade in the box when it comes to these 'ere technical compootery thingy's. My wife says I should NOT do anything more than play solitaire. However with a bit of direction I might be able to navigate to where I want to be. A couple of months ago my fuel g/g threw a wobbly. I checked on the forum and managed to find 2 posts. One on replacing the in tank unit and the other for some soldering on the pcb. I thought I would do the soldering one first. Before I got round to doing it however, the g/g seemed to revert back to normal. Now in the past couple of days it's back to wobbly throwing again. I'm booked in for the MOT on Friday so I'd better get it done. No problem look it up on the forum again. Somehow, eventually found the post on soldering. As I wasn't going to do it immediately, I took down the details as follows :-
By - frederic cm
Post -  flashing fuel gauge - fix.
As a check I put this in the search and got nothing. I put in fuel gauge and got nothing. A couple of other things put in came up nothing. I even tried to find frederic in the members list but could only get one page of names for "f" going as far as "fa". Can someone please help and tell me how to get straight to where I'm looking for.
Cheers.

.......tried to find frederic in the members list but could only get one page of names for "f" going as far as "fa"....

If you had looked down the screen/page...at the bottom you would have seen :-
Pages: 1 ... 45 46 [47] 48 49 ... 167
The [47] indicates that you are on page 47, so to see more members you
should then  have clicked on 48  etc etc

As to your 'search'...if what you are looking for is more than one word
then you have to create a 'string'...see the guide on using the search
facility...it is located in the Section headed :-
Guidance & Info for NEW members to the Forum
and it is 'labelled' :- How To - Use the 'SEARCH' facility on the Forum

Another useful guide in there is 'How to - INSERT QUOTES in your own posts'
All are well worth a good read to familiarize yourself with how the Forum works.

And....in case you hadn't noticed/seen...Technical Guides for each Section are
located in the Child Boards...or they can be seen at the top of a Section
if you click on the 'main' heading...like 'Engine & Exhaust'.

You'll soon get the hang of things on the Forum....Enjoy....
