Cold weather + high RPM on highway deffinitely increase fuel consumption.  What engine oil is in yours?

If you have the patience to drive at 2500 rpm you will see the same <5L/100km outside of the city too.

Happy Forfouring!

Yes, I totally agree Alex! In city driving I usually change gears quickly and go into 4th gear to move with 50-60 km/h, that's why I get such a good fuel consumption, while on the motorway I move with 3.500rpm to reach 120-130, so the car should be drinking a lot of gas. Good thing is that the car pulls really well from low end, so you can change 3 gears with less than 2500rpm.
If that consumption continues, I'm gonna love my f4!!
P.S  I use 5-30 oil.

In translation 7.1l per 100 is about 33 mpg. I get this out of my Brab and I get 45 mpg 5.1 l per 100 out of the 1.1.
Wirewalker - are the plugs, air filter etc all recent, Are the tyres the correct pressures? Is the throttle reset so that it is in tolerance ( see child boards)? Is the throttle body cleaned( child boards)? Is there a wheel hub running hot owing too brakes or bearings? Have you tried it on premium fuel ( or an octane booster)?
All of these can affect the Mpg figure but the style of driving and types of roads it is used on can have an even bigger effect.
The most important part is that you are enjoying it. There are a number of fans of the 1.1 on this site- it is a great engine. Happy motoring.

what i used to do when i had my first 1.1, i would fill the tank and then see how far it would go, on the next fill i would try and go a little further before i felt it needed filling. i could manage 420 miles easily on a tank. i managed close to 600 miles (590 miles) but i was really pushing it and extreme hypermiling.

i really used to drive my first 1.1 hard and fill it with premium fuel (mainly shell v-power) and thats possibly the reason why it was really peppy and used to get good MPG.

This week I managed 5.7 lit/100 km by driving in country roads with 80-100 km/h.
Nevertheless, I cannot celebrate though, since gasoline is 2.32 euros / liter in Greece right now!!!

...gasoline is 2.32 euros / liter in Greece right now !!!

The price here in the UK has risen again (twice in a week) to more or less the same price....   :'(

Well sorry for getting back to this, but have you noticed that the forfour's fuel consumption increases significantly when there is cold (like below 5 degrees Celsius). I know of course that all cars have increased fuel consumption on the winter, but I noticed a 20% increase from my 1.1. Whats is your experience?
