when i lock or unlock my forfour it intermittently beeps. now I'm not sure how the alarm system works but is it meant to beep when locked?
i have had the alarm go off... when i locked my sister and dad in the car as i went in to the services on the motorway and my sister got out to stretch her legs, so i know its got a functioning alarm.
its as if the car is arming and then sensing a break in, beeping and then realising all is well.

Mine doesn't beep when locking but it does make a noise when unlocking sometimes,I think it's to tell you that the alarm has gone off while you were away from the car

im sure that everything is shut properly. the interior light goes out and the bonnet is properly shut, id notice the bonnet if it wasnt shut properly.
it could be im pressing the lock button too early, meaning in pressing the lock button before the door is shut, but if thats the case why when i open the car?

unlocking beep is when the alarm has gone off....

you may have a spider inside or a little fly - keep your eye out

My smart doesn't lock if all the doors aren't closed. I hear the central locking lock and then immediately unlock, and a few seconds later the car beeps at me. The alarm still activates itself after 2-3 minutes, and will sound if one of the doors are opened.

A friends Skoda has no problems when locking the cars with doors open. When you close the rest of the doors, it will lock them too and that's that. But our Forfours aren't like that.

IIRC you can't lock the doors when the door/s are still open (I will check this later) so will bleep to tell you somethings amiss.

i think i was locking the car 'to early' if that makes sence

Hi guys , If it's any help , i had this issue of the car beeping every time i locked it, all doors , bonnet and boot were shut , turned out to be the bonnet sensor had moved slightly.
I made sure it was in the correct position , ( just pushed back in) , all was fine after that
