Fuel tank, how much it takes with tricks?
« on: December 16, 2014, 09:28:42 PM »

We all know that we have about 47 litre fuel tank. So how much you can fill with tricks? Turns out there is 15-20 litres extra :D

Note following procedure is not recommended!

1st Fill tank normally...
2nd Reverse your car's rear wheel on a stand (fuel cap size)
3rd keep filling the tank :D

The trick is the fuel tank won't have that much air inside anymore.
Dunno does it stress fuel pump that much but at least opening the fuel cap is much harder :D

There is no leak but you're going to fill all way up to the "neck" without much air inside the tank. With this extra fuel you can easily go over 1000km trip distance :D

I do understand where you are coming from.
The car holds 47L but my biggest fill up ever was 40L.
Avg is 36L, So I could get more in my car but due to air it won't go in.
I do always wait till 1bar or it flashes 5L left.

Even when i run it down to 0.0L i still can't get more than 45L in, after the first couple of clicks no matter how much i wait or rock the car, only a few more ml go in before the pump clicks again. With 20 more liters in there i'd think the vapor canister would be flooded on a petrol car.

I'd rather stop more often...i can't hold it for 1000km :'(
