I was watching the remade (reimagined?) RoboCop last night on Film4 and saw this...



There is also another scene where a (the same?) 454 is clearly parked up with a 451 going in the other direction. Two things spring to mind...

1. Really cool that a 454 is in a film! (albeit for a very brief time)
2. The move is set in Detroit (and Wikipedia does say this) but the majority of the filming photography was in Canada. While I don't believe the 454 was ever officially sold in the USA, was the 454 sold in Canada?

Good pick up. I think I watched the film but recall it wasn't great. Might be a forfour fan working on the film.

The ForFour was never ever sold in USA.....or Canada from what I can ascertain.
Maybe someone from the fim crew/props department saw the car in Europe and
thought it looked 'in keeping' with the film...in shades of black n grey.. and had
it shipped it over to the USA just for the movie.
Wonder if its 'holed up' in a garage or lock up somewhere out there still ?

(just noticed the 'slatted' side windows....suits it with the black Trid and wheels)

Looking at the other shot of the 454 with the 451 in the picture (http://www.imcdb.org/vehicle_676047-smart-Fortwo-451.html) and a Canadian website (http://www.carfind.ca/en/info/roadtests,view,smart.spy?artid=62771), I would think that the car was imported into Canada.

The plates say Michigan mind but the blog where the above came from (http://loadingdocproductions.blogspot.co.uk/2012/11/robocop-movie-shoot-on-our-street.html) says Toronto.

It looks like they specifically picked unusual/interesting cars for the movie, possibly they were owned by companies that rent to movie productions or more likely they picked from a catalogue of cars that the public are willing to rent out. (I owned a Chevy Caprice police car and was listed in a few)

The champagne coloured vehicle is a WiLL VS, a rare Toyota made JDM-only car and on my list of cars to own sometime:
