Straight in with a relatively formal e-mail/petition. I am still drafting it, I've suddenly become swamped with other things at the moment.

Rear spoiler - interesting

We’ve seen a few of those going bad too

The thing is smart offered a 4yr warranty and that’s pretty awesome even in modern times so what leg does anyone stand on that a 10yr old car has suffered UV damage?

Do nothing...get nothing...
So what more can one do other than ask to see what if anything they
are prepared to do/offer...even if it's just advice on the 'proper' way
to clean/maintain the items is better than SFA in my opinion.

Do lots...get nothing... ;)

its akin to finding out who made the guttering fitted to your house 10yrs ago and asking them to replace as its gone brittle in the sun and weather ;)

i'd be interested to know what the UV degradation / life expectancy was designed to be.

Who made the headlights?

your question of who made the headlights may be a simple answer. the manufacture who made them would have stamped there name or logo somewhere, i know with the face lift XF it has a sticker with a HELLA logo on it

Re the headlights....or to be more precise the clear covers....
These could be manufactured, however there would need to be
a minimum order of around at least 2000 units (1000 left, 1000 right)
to make it economically viable to have them produced.
Deposit's with a contrcat to pay the balance on completion would be
a necessity as there are too many who would say "Yes, I'll have them2
only to do an about face when asked to pay later.
(much the same as with the Group Buys that took a lot of my time to
set up and organise on more than one occasion.)

The only good thing about the headlight covers is that they are not
specific to LHD or RHD...they fit either, so it would have been viable...
if only this big push for EV's hadn't happened to rear it's ugly head.

Who asked about buying replacement covers ;)

We were talking about complaining to the manufacturer I thought?

And where does the EV thing come into it?

As an aside, I don't have the transparent roof either, but indeed my rear quarter windows are starting to yellow. Not a lot, but noticeable.

So, I already ordered some Meguiar's PlastX for my headlamps. I'll give the polycarb rear windows a go as well, and post the results.

I will look for some UV protection spray later and add that to the regular maintenance. Clean lamps are safe lamps!

Interested to see how it performs

Some black vinyl wrap would fix it
