wow, I wouldnt do a journey like that in my completely open(vestigial screen 6 inches high, cutaway sides so no doors) kitcar, although there would be a  temptation to wind it up on an autobahn like the relatively traffic free E61( cruised along there at 130mph in my Porsche en route Nurburgring). I know it will do 150 mph(Aintree,5000rpm, against gearing for 6200rpm in top ) with loads to spare, but at that speed that front hinged front end is just beginning to fill up with air and I wonder how much faster I could go before the fasteners burst or there wouldnt be enough weight on the steering wheels for safety.Mine is probably the only one of that model with 300bhp so I cant ask any other owner unfortunately

G'day Brabs,  nice trip in your Citroen 2cv based Lomax,  In the early 70s I did a trip in my Citroen 2cv around Sweden and Norway for 4 weeks with my ex wife, we also lived in the back as i left the backseat at home, i made a platform to level the floor for the air mattress and at night had the front higher to level it properly. it was a bit cramped but we did it.
I had also no breakdowns but one of the universal joints was worn out and had to be replaced, that was all.
