Driver/passenger seat swap over for election testing?
« on: September 07, 2021, 03:09:59 PM »

Afternoon,

I don't suppose anyone knows if removing and swapping over driver and passenger seats will affect the airbag electrics?

I'm currently diagnosing my faulty driver's heated seat. Seems to have continuity seat and switch so thinking it's the relay.

Obviously I'll disconnect the battery for at least 10 mins before unplugging each seat, switching over and connecting all up.

Relay is on a separate board as kindly found by another Forfour member, driver's side hidden high up under the dashboard.

Thanks

Answered my own question. Unbolted each seat, disconnected the heated seat wiring for each as I found the will reach each side.

Connected up one then the other and seems that the switches and relay are ok since passenger side works off its own switch and driver's switch but then testing driver's seat, neither allow the switch lights to remain illuminated.  Points to the heated seat pads potentially being the issue here !
