I agree the C250 CDI is very nice, I just fancy the Jag.

I am hoping they depreciate massively over the next few years, and I will get one then.

Well, auto trader have them for around £17,000 at the moment,

250CDi at around £25,000, which is dearer than I expected TBH,

I have a theory that most cars loose half of their value every three years.  On this basis, I will be able to afford the Jag in 6 years time.

my dad has just bought an ex demo c250cdi Sport Estate the far superior face lifted version. He had been looking at year old versions pre facelift but i persuaded him to up his budget because the interior and exterior look better and the quality is improved.
I took it out for a spin and despite it being a little course under hard throttle, the power is amazing as it should be with 369ft lb torque also the 7spd auto is seamless.

Nice to hear, the seven speed gearbox is a real plus, I think the gremlins of the previous models have been ironed out, their reputation had suffered, this new breed however, just speak of class.

Do like the Jaguars, best looking car in quite a while, still take the C250 CDI though, its just better.

Less emissions also, Jag 179, Merc, 153

the 2.2 diesel xf emissions should be lower. anyhow who cares about the emissions when you have a big fancy car!

Well, its nice to have a planet to drive around on 8)

The smart forfour has one of the lowest co2 emission counts and was a reason for me buying the car along with others, I always check the emissions.

modern emissions contol's are a joke they clog up causing cars to burn more fuel so a waste of time as a car that uses more fuel but emits less C02 is actually more polluting.
15 supertankers produce as much Co2 as all the cars on earth more worrying is that there are 91000 supertankers on the worlds seas.
Even if we all drove V8's with straight through exhausts it would make no noticeable difference against shipping and aircraft pollution.

Trouble is the uk and europe have signed us up to completely unrealistic reductions in co2 emissions! While china and the US continue to pump it into the atmosphere! What's the point?

It's just a way of charging people for peeing into the ocean!!

That was part of my reasoning to keep the brabus over the micra - it's only a matter of time before motoring goes the way of smoking.

Didn't take long to move smoking from a nuisance to those whi dobt do it to a huge taboo in society. One day we lovers of motor vehicles will be looked down on in much the same way for no good reason.

Me thinks this thread has been hijacked, sorry about that!

But essentially to say, I dont think the BMW diesel would interest me, I would take the Brabus, much more nimble, 0-60 may be equal, but cornering wouldnt be, I havn't seen many things on the road that can go around a roundabout at 80mph and the brabus certainly can.

Me thinks this thread has been hijacked, sorry about that !.....

Hijacked after 5th post (nickb the originators 2nd one) and now
we're at 26 posts including this one. Methinks we should return to the
original subject/topic..or...lock the post to stop more being added.

I would always choose Smart over BMW, purely because every other person has a BMW and they aren't individual. Sure you can customise them, like with all cars but there is nothing that makes me want to buy one.
They are luxurious, no doubt about it but in this day and age owning a huge car is a drain on finances and not really needed, especially in a city when you have trouble even parking a Smart on the streets!

Also whenever I drive anywhere, guess which driver always has to be an idiot and drive like they have stolen it? Hmmm...BMW drivers!
