So basically remove your mirror, under mirror is one screw, then remove your handle, then do that hip/knee technique.
Also if you check that picture where my friend twist the door and you can see how strong is the panel. So it not break easily.

Handle will remove automatically after you have removed few torx bolts which you can find when the door is open.

Oh that's the gap, i thought he meant somewhere else, at the top of the window?

Yeah seen the door panel, not very healthy for the electrics that really!

Apparently main thing with door panel is pushing your knee in it at the centre, letting it flex, then there are 3 or 4 contact areas that you need to unhook, at the top of the panel, you should be able to see them, these panels have a lot of give in them, first remove the rubber seal though, what I couldn't figure out is how you then slide the panel off,

Having looked at the guide, do I just need to remove the door handle, not the mirror? Can't quite work out from the photo's what order to do things?

the video is for a fortwo

you need to remove the wing mirror as the door panel has a lip that goes under it.

i would say, before removing it all, just loosen the door handle and rubber and put your hip slowly but with some weight into the door centre and see if the top lip just needs to be clipped over again.

note: i would park the door in the sun for a bit to "soften" it :)

On looking once again at the picture of your door skin it very much
appears to me to be that the bolt/screw that should go through the
skin to hold it to the door frame has been put in before the skin has
been fitted !  As I posted earlier, I would advise removing the door
handle first, to then see if that is the case.
If it is, then the door skin would quite possibly need to be removed
to get to the bolt/screw.
Remove the rubber sealing strip from the top of the door skin.
Mask up the front edge of the skin to save any damage when
removing /refitting it. Remove the door mirror. You will then see the
other bolt/screw that holds the skin to the frame. Remove that.
Then press your hip/knee into the centre of the door skin.
It will flex and the top 'plump' or rise up. Unhook the top from the door
frame. Then slide the panel down and towards the front of the car...
carefully.

You won't need to remove it completely...just a bit so that you can,
if necessary get to the bolt/screw by the exterior door handle.
Refit everything and put the retreived bolt/screw through the skin.
Replace the door handle.
Done.

Well.....that is as I said...assuming it is the bolt/screw that's made the door skin push out.

Thanks for all the help.

Car is booked for service and TVA clean at my mates this week, then at the weekend I will inspect the panel. Currently taped with gaffer tape! Water sploshing around at the bottom at the minute, although seems to be escaping slowly through the drain holes.

Poke the drain holes with a small zip tie, or a piece of wire to rush the draining.
