Hello guys and girls,

Over the last two weeks, I have made the effort to drive as economically as I possibly can. I've anticipated everything as much as possible, stuck to about 55mph, keeping it under 2,000 rpm and the result..... 653 miles to the tank and a fill up of 44.8 litres at the end of it.

I'm pretty damn pleased with that!

Anyone care to take up the mantle and beat it?

Oh, and as a side note, has anyone ever noticed their tripomoter clicking back to zero at about 620 miles? Mine has done it twice now! Luckily I knew what mileage on the odometer I'd filled up on so I could still keep track of the "record attempt". I'm guessing that this is because 620 miles is approx 1,000 km and programmed to go back to zero.

Anyway, I filled up yesterday, and I've enjoyed putting my foot down a bit since then!

Very impressive, over 66mpg I make that. I will try when I get my car back from the mrs- she is having too much fun with it while hers needs new tyres.

Just so you have a chance of winning something ;)

Victor, you should consider remapping your car to 100bhp+.  According to mr Crazy it is quite possible to gain the extra power (up to at least 125bhp) without noticing a big difference on the MPG - depending how you drive it I guess!

When you haven't got that 'extra' power from the re-map it's nigh on impossible
to get a 'worse' fuel consumption...especially from the 68hp.
But once you have that extra, it takes a lot of effort to not use it.....
So it you are happy with it as it is, then stay with it at 68, though personally
I'd recommend having it raised to the 95hp mark and sticking to that....
(Then slide the seat back a notch, to make you conciously stretch for the extra oomph)

Yep, that's why. I have the onboard computer and the reading in that does not reset at 1000km, but the trip meter in the left binacle always resets.
