They make it look easy!  I was just about to move onto the plastidip too, and you linked it in the meantime ;) Actually I'm about to watch a video about plastidipping your whole car...

Just watched the plastidip of a whole car. Dipyourcar.com

Looks amazing, it's certainly going to be the end of vinyal wrap surely!!! Well at least for solid colours, not the carbon effect.

Hmmmm the possibilities. Whole Brab in Matt black??

I'm not sure it has the longevity of vinyl.  They only suggest it lasts a year, but it can be touched up.

And if the local kids find out it peels off.....

yeah - one stone chip and it will start delaminating.

but then its probably a cheap product.... i've not looked but the cans are about £6

There's a firm I saw who do largish samples for £1.50 lemme see......

I just got a 30x60cm piece of black on ebay for £10.  Gonna do a few trim bits... OR.... ORRRR... ORRRRRRRR... my engine cover.  But yeah, I'd need a bigger bit for that, so interior trim it is ;)

its not going to work on the engine cover.... too complex and the heat will just warm it until it comes unstuck :)

wonder if the plasti dip would work though????

I really like the vinyling method, though I am a can fan.

I have a plan for when I refurb my wheels and i am thinking that vinyl may be a good idea. Don't know how i'll do the centre though.!

Anyone know whether paint sticks to vinyl? I'd be using a brush not a can...

I would think paint will stick to vinyl like it would to any other plastic - i.e. you might need a primer.

True, but you wouldn't tackle it in the same way as it is a very soft and thin plastic that you can't really key the surface of... which you would still need to do with primer.

I wondered if anyone had ever seen anyone paint onto vinyl - pinstriping or otherwise.

I've never keyed plastic, primer has always been enough.
