Hi All,
It is with deep regret that I announce the untimely demise of my Forfour diesel which occurred on 19th June in Galway. I was hit head-on at about 50 mph on a minor road by a French couple who were both looking out the passenger side window at the wonderful scenery, whilst driving on the wrong side of the road. As they bore down on me I did not have the option of swerving left onto the margin,as it did not exist, only a vertical bank that was unassailable. My only option was to slow as much as I could,so impact occurred at 30 mph,my speed, plus estimated 50 of the oncoming vehicle. My car was lifted up to about 60 degress, then fell down dead. The airbags worked perfectly, also seat belt ,which left a bruise all down my neck and chest, a few cuts to the arms, and strangely enough,a single badly bruised toe. The car was written off, with the shell remaining intact, front chassis/axle broken, and I walked freely from it once initial shock had worn off. Other much larger vehicle, which, incidentally, was coming down hill had much more damage,I think, but I did not pay it much attention,as the passenger was injured, and I was worried about her condition, which turned out to be not too serious, according to ambulance staff. Anybody got another manual for sale.please?
