The ForTwo with non power steering isn't really that bad...for a man. A bit of an efffort
for a woman, just.  And it's only 'heavy' at very slow speed...as in parking at 5mph... or less.

In my experiences of working on ForTwo's, and one's I have seen being serviced at S2
I can guarantee that nearly every one has had the wrong front tyre pressures !  Typically 24psi.
They should be 30psi all round, which then makes the steering a lot lighter.
And if oversized (as in profile) tyres are fitted then the steering is bound to be heavier.
S2's courtesy 450 doesn't have power steering, but it does have Michelin front tyres, and
with those it feels exactly like my Brab 450 with power steering and wide low profile tyres !

So the simple answer is...keep the tyre pressure right, don't park at too slow a speed,
and if possible...fit Michelin tyres on the front !

If you want the expensive / other option of having power steering fitted, then why not
give S2smarts a call....or your local Smart independant as the labour costs are far cheaper
than those of MB.

Thanks, I will have a look at the psi tomorrow for her, I was going to take my 44 to Sam in York, I emailed him last weekend and said it was £45 to use his diagnostics machine but when I said I will come to his home he hasn't emailed me back so I will have to find a smart mechanic near me to sort me 44 & 42 out.

not many fortwo's with power steering - not needed.

tell her you are looking into it and she will soon forget about it...

She's not bothered about it but I drove and parked at tesco ( other branded supermarkets are available  ;D ) it last night and now my neck is killing me, I had acdf surgery last may to take 2 disks out of my spine from a car crash I was in 17 years ago, I'll just stick to driving the 44.

Give Sam a chance...he might (like Rob at S2) get very little time either before/between/after
working on cars to action his emails...and most of them are the usual spam/rubbish/offers...
or loads of peops asking for free advice ! ! on how to do stuff that he does for a living !
So yeah...it may take him time to sort through the 'crap' and get back to you.
Oh and £45 for diagnostics...and he comes to you....bargain I'd say compared to MB's £110+
and you have to go to them.

Sam's wife does all his email's, I think he makes most of his money on going to there house and charging a £1 a mile to get to them, I live 90 mile away from him, I'll give him till next weekend because I need the car sorting out, I will use him for both cars services and work doing on them, and he has moved from York to hull  :(
