Yeah - you need the part to sign the ownership back over. Chase DVLA and see if they have sent it out.

You can't transfer ownership with the little slip.

When you say green slip you mean part 10 from the big red v5

Have you considered asking them for some money and fixing the the car yourself - that way you know the car will be up to spec

The sooner it goes the better, just having to wait for the logbook is a pain. I think I will be waiting for a while to find another Brabus as I'm not confident in buying one from any dealer. It most probably be from an enthusiast.

don't be afraid to travel......

£40 of fuel could get you a lovely car and most people selling will negotiate on travel costs so say you will pay your own way there but if you buy it, you want the £40 off the price ;)

in the grand scheme of it all, a train journey is well worth it for a good car :)

Indeedy it is JJ! I drove from Devon to Harlow in Essex one Saturday to look at my Brab... round trip of 500 ish miles! It was just the one I wanted though so I caught the train up the next weekend to pick it up. Had a great drive back, love the car and no regrets!  ;)

mine came from york to bristol from merc dealer (although i didn't even see it or drive it when they delivered it)

.....only did that because it was only 18months old and still had over 2 years manufacturers warranty :)

After my experience I would say a quick phone call to the garage to make sure the car is unsold and then get down there as quick as you can without saying how far you've come. My wife once wanted an automatic Tigra and I found a three year old one on Autotrader seventy miles away. I phoned up and they said they would hold it for me. When I got there it was overpriced and I found myself with no bargaining power on price even with no trade in. The best I could get was £100 off or an extra years warranty so I took the latter. After six months the gearbox went, the warranty refused to pay and the selling garage would take no responsibility. I eventually got £1040 from the warranty company by taking them to arbitration, but I learnt a lesson.
Yes it's all right to travel when you're looking for a rarish car, but don't make it too obvious you must have it. Leave yourself the opportunity to do a proper deal, it's still a second hand car.

agreed - you don't have to buy!

drove from bristol to accrington to look at a forfour for my dad.....told it was "mint" and "hardly a scratch on it" over the phone so drove the 200 miles up there to find it was wrecked!! torn seats, every panel scratched etc so we walked away. Just turned into a nice day out in the end with my dad.

Update the car is finally going this weekend after I have been refunded. Not having much joy looking for another Brabus, to be honest I think I may go for a standard Forfour.

There are some on eBay but from private sellers. You now know what to look for. You could also get an AA inspection as well to cover yourself further?
