Still looking for a Brabus lol
« on: July 21, 2013, 04:45:34 PM »

Up untill recently I was going to call it a day and look at another brand of car. I can't bring myself to do it and after looking at BMWs and Audis they aren't as fun. In the short time I had my Brabus it always put a smile on my face and I really miss it. If anyone knows of any decent ones for sale please let me know as I have been fully refunded for my old one :)

I have seen a silver one for £2850 its done 130000 miles fsh and cambelt change. I think that isn't a bad buy considering it has been done by the Smart Car Specialist Guilford who I use.

leather missing from nob is VERY common - mine has gone and its done 43k miles

TBH, looks very good.

Check it drives nice.

Check for suspension knocks.

Check noisy wheel bearings.

HPI check on phone.

Check cam belt is done (possibly x2) and doesn't need doing again in the near term.

Check interim oil changes have been done (min every 6months on car with this many miles)

Jap engine should be rock hard

Check manifold for leaks and gasses (you will be able to smell)

Check any bills and paperwork (don't be shy rummaging through)

Ask why selling.

Go in at £2500 and you will have a bargain (IMHO)

It certainly  looks very good in the photos especially for that money. Gotta be the highest mileage Brab I have seen. Someone has had a lot of fun in that car!

if its all motorway miles (would have cost a fortune if it wasn't) then should be very little stress on the engine - just wear and tear on suspension and wheel bearings.

With a bit if bargaining you can get a car with have the miles for only £750 more thought. That's 60k miles saved for not that much more

A dealer selling it cheap.... very unheard of.
You should have the experience now having owned a brabus forfour to compare with. We can only tell you so much on here and which you have already heard.

A 131k mile brab is the highest I've seen personally. They haven't mentioned clutch so expect that to be need changing and check for wheel bearing noise as these 2 are the high cost items to renew. Gear actuator could also be shot

why would the clutch want changing? if its been sat on the motorway there is no need to change gear, put it in 5th and 'relax'. my uncles 2006/06 civic diesel had done 150k and the clutch still feels like new. as for the gear actuator, you do know its a manual?!
