Poor RS4
« on: July 30, 2013, 09:51:35 AM »

He pulled up next to me at the lights and gave his lovely engine a blip (sounded fantastic)

Thought he was gonna race me but we both pootled away at a leisurely speed. I thought there was no point playing.

Still level after about 300m so I thought ah, what the hell so floored it and got a nose ahead when I heard the RS4 floor it too.

He started to gain slowly but didn't come roaring past, in fact he only pulled level over 500m - he looked a bit confused (and I think I did too)

Another moral victory for the BRABUS ;)

That is odd, they are very very capable cars! Can only assume you caught him a bit off guard / in the wrong gear? he probably also underestimated your car!

Not very nice to play with someone with one of the few remapped Brabus Forfours. He'll probably be down the garage telling the mechanic it's not pulling as well as it should  ;)

Rolling start probably helped, as the rs4 Quattro would you expect put the power down much better

Out of curiosity Problemchild, what do you believe your 0 - 60 times to be now?
From what I read 0-60 standard is 6.7 seconds (6.9 to 100 kph) so, given you have around 30 horsepower more (or 17% above standard) and oodles more torque, I reckon you'll be looking at sub 6 seconds?

i don't know TBH

its defo nippier but wheels spin from standing start can be high

2nd is the best gear to go for it in

i think the RS4 was just 1second behind me on putting the throttle down and if he was in 3rd say (i was in 2nd) he would have needed a down shift but then you would have expected that he would have creamed me as his revs built but he never.

also, the big brakes on mine would have allowed me to brake much later so would have still had him ;)

shocked look was funny though

Lol yeh. Ohh to be a fly on the wall at that moment :)

Had similar experiences with my S Type. Firstly were the odd looks as to why a 26 year old was driving an old mans car! Secondly was the shock that the old mans car was getting to 60 in 6.6 and destroying them at the top end too :)

But oddly enough, with it being the stereotypical plodding car, everyone wanted to bloody overtake me.

Hoping the Brabus provokes some fun with the ricer crowd  ;D
