thesmartclub Brabus
« on: September 07, 2013, 11:33:55 PM »

Was just checking ebay to see the Brabus' on offer and spotted this -

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/BRABUS-smart-forfour-motorsport-/200961133427?pt=Automobiles_UK&hash=item2eca378b73

I know it was on autotrader when I was looking months ago and, seeing it disappeared, assumed it sold.

Either the new owner doesn't like it or it's still owned by the team and relisted.

But either way, it's back!

Anyone know the tuning done on this or is it a standard but slightly gutted one with fancy paint and a roll cage?

I think there may be some info in the For Sale folder.
Custom exhaust, no remap mentioned...or any other 'tuning' bits...
Full details available at http://www.thesmartclub.co.uk/forfour/

Its a difficult car to sell anyway, let alone with a stripped out interior, no handbrake, radio, leathers etc Various bits in the engine bay missing too, engine cover, air intake scoop from a quick glance. Track car buyers usually want a rear wheel drive car anyway or a car with tried and tested tuning options and good parts availability

Apart from exhaust I think it has a pipercross panel and 16" compomotive wheels, judging from these pics, though no intake scoop seems weird

no handbrake

??? if you have a look in the advert at picture 9 you will catch site of a leaver behind the gear leaver which looks suspiciously like a handbrake leaver

Interesting car for maybe a racer or collector but for everyday use? I think not! It'll be as noisy as hell and probably not very comfortable on ordinary roads! Also good for Billy no mates re: any pasengers! Lol!

Yes very suspicious... however not as inconspicuous as stated in the writing above the pics

"As this is primarily a race car, a handbrake facility was not required ... the car will be supplied with additional rear calliper conversion to rotate rear callipers through 90 degrees if a conventional handbrake is required in the future"

Jumping the gun once again mr s but maybe the new arrival is diverting your attention :-) Congrats by the way

The new home for it will be S2smarts......
It will hit the tracks again.. after having a map/remap.
Expect it to appear in the Classic Car series...in with the other 'tin tops'
(aka. small saloons)  Boy will they get a surprise.......
