Selling my 1.1 pulse
« on: February 06, 2014, 04:04:41 PM »

Hi all, I am selling the above car very soon and was curious what price I should ask? It has no service history with it other than since my ownership from Oct 2012 and I have kept all receipts. It has 97000 miles on a 54 plate all black with 15" alloys. MOT til Jan 2015 and tax til June. Exterior in pretty good condition but interior needs a bit of tlc (worn carpet in footwell).
Thanks

its worth what someone will pay for it.

£800 would do the car a huge injustice IMHO but you won't be getting loads.

whats it worth to you?

Autotrader has 1.1 Pulse models from a 54 plate with 146k at £595
up to an 07 plate with 90.5k for £2150.
None of them has alloys.

So, it all depends on year/mileage and overall condition.

Demand is relatively low for these cars (still) so selling can be bit and miss.

Quite a few new owners have said they didn't know the car existed but they fell in love with it when they saw it on the forecourt.

£800 would have been silly money for any car of that age.

That's why I asked what the seller would like for it.

If I were the OP I would put a "for sale" poster in the back of the car at £1500 and see what takers I got.

I would say max £1500, I know that was a part-ex price for mine a year and half ago but my Pulse had a few options plus full service history (part-MB).

I've been looking for a 1.1 or 1.3 for a few weeks now, and to be honest I can't make heads or tails of the listings. There are a lot around the 2k mark that don't seem to be shifting. My budget won't stretch that far and honestly I don't think the ones I've seen are worth that. Also it's doesn't help that there's a lot of disparity between motivated sellers and everyone else. I've seen two cases where on ebay and autotrader when one pops up for sub £1200 and gets snapped up pretty quickly while the others remain.

specs vary greatly.

as i said above, people don;t know what they are so they either stumble across them by accident or the stay there for ages.

Agreed,

It's just a frustrating situation that's all. Again as you said earlier, they're only worth someone will pay for it.

Until I bought my 1.1 I had no idea that the Brabus forfour even existed! Then, like JJ I too waited for the right spec', silver, electric roof, auto lights/wipers, headlight washers. Then one came up with 20,000 miles on the clock! I ended up driving all the way from Devon to Harlow (Essex) to view it. Once I'd driven it it had to be mine! NO regrets!  ;)
