Yes, the advice is great and i always open my windows when i climb in, and drive for a short stretch with them open to get rid of the hot air. I usually keep mine at 22C and fan at 2. It automatically enables recirculation if it's not set to blow on the windscreen.  But when it's scorching, or i have a black shirt on, i set it on 15C and crank the fan up.

ATM i'm experiencing some problems with my air-con. It only starts if i start it when i start the car up, and the engine temp is below 60C. Otherwise, the compressor doesn't start and it just blows air. AND when i start it like this, it works non-stop until all the pipes freeze up, and they block the fans path and it sounds like an airplane taking off, but no air gets in the car... :o But temp in the car plummets immediately ;D

PS...did you get my PM's by the way ?

Possibly, yes. I'm looking for another project car.

Didn't get your PM's, I think I've opted out for the time being.

Sounds as if the clutch is not disengaging. Could be faulty switch or low on gas.

Yes, the clutch doesn't disengage. I can hear the relay click, but the compressor keeps spinning.
I don't think it's low on gas because it absolutely FREEZES all pipes in 30 minutes. And it blows freezing
cold air from the first few seconds. I did have a frontal crash a few months ago, and that's when it started to play up...
The air-con condenser up front was a bit mangled, but didn't puncture... :-\

to be honest i don't think its compressor related, i think there might be a blockage in the A/C pipes somewhere, if its freezing along the outside of the pipes

If you are considering on passing yours on, then please do advertise/offer it on here.
Yours is a peach and well worth having for anyone considering a CDi  95hp 1.5 diesel Passion
(Phat Red with silver Trid and all the other goodies listed earlier by Ferrina)

That looks like the cause then. If you've mangled the condenser there's probably a kink in the pipe as it goes through the matrix.

Thing is it works great for the first 30 minutes, blowing in extremely cold air. Then, the fan output drops, and it gets louder (like the fan becomes blocked) If i switch it on to heat for a couple of minutes, it starts blowing in air again. ???
