Smarts @ Gaydon Heritage Motor Museum - 23rd July 2016
« on: July 11, 2016, 01:54:21 PM »

The regular meeting at Gaydon is back on this year on the 23rd of July from 10am onwards (https://www.britishmotormuseum.co.uk). There were a fair number of Smarts there last year but only the one 454, let's see if we can change that! :P

It is likely to be a bit busier than last year as the Antique Fair will be there as well on the same day. If at least 12 cars attend, admittance in to the museum is £9.

Remember that British weather dictates that even in Summer, sun is not guaranteed, so come prepared just in case. I'll see if I can dig out the banner from Smart of Amsterdam.

That's 2 brave fellows........any more for anymore ?
Come on...there must be others ForFour Owners
who can make it......
And I can vouch that the museum is well worth a visit.
I've been there and around it when I was at a model slot car
festival, and I saw some cars that Britain should have produced
back in the 60's that were way ahead of any of the Jap/German
stuff that was around....and they would have sold, if only the
old frumps in charge of our motor industries had only had the
foresight, and taken the risk/gamble.

Gaydon was, as always, a lovely day out. I believe the count was 54 cars in total with 4 454s present. The sun was pretty strong today (got a fair bit of sunburn from it) and everyone seemed to enjoy themselves. Glad to see mr.singh and Problemchild at Gaydon today - hope to see more at the next meet. ;D

The 4th attendee wasn't a forum member I believe but she has a 1.1 Purestyle. She only popped in to say hi as she lived in the area.
