Not the cheapest cars to insure
« on: February 11, 2018, 10:41:42 AM »

I’m currently shopping around for a competitive quote on the Brabus and it isn’t cheap. I’m 32 live in Surrey with 10 years no claim bonus. I have been quoted £650 fully comp with all the usual extras included plus protected NCB limited to 8000 miles social use only. Car is valued around £3500 according to insurance company. Don’t understand the logic when I can get insured cheaper in a 2012 petrol  Skoda Octavia VRS valued at £8500

Parts are becoming less and less available with time, this may be the case.

You don't really want to know how much I'm paying for 454 1.5 CDi annually  ::)

Maybe you can link the insurance to that of your Octavia, LV allow that for example.

My Brabus costs me (I’m 41) sub £400 with all mods declared, protected NCB and a nonfaukt accident last year.

I’ve never paid more than £500 though and I’ve owned it for 8yrs

Aviva or direct line

Use Quidco and you will get an extra £60 off

iv been with MSM for the past 6 years. they have ALWAYS quoted less than others insurers. it was only last year where comparison sites came to below £1000.
iv got 6 years NCB and in 30.

iv found that the newer the car the cheaper they are to insure, but they cost more to buy. its possibly the reason that Deszus mentioned. parts are getting harder to get hold of where as the newer cars, parts are readily available.
