Well finally owned a Brab a couple of months now and have to say I love it !
Treated her to new -
Grandlines Alloys
4 new tyres
New clutch
B service
New fan belt
So Yh even tho I got her a little cheaper I’ve spent the difference in value back into maintenance.
Next on my list is upgrading the suspension as that’s doing the usual Forfour creaking I had with my 1.1 and 1.3 I used to own and it doesn’t feel as good as MrSingh’s I drove .
I’ve been told it’s got Poly Brushes so when MOT due in April I’ll see what that shows and if nothing major will have a look at tweaking and stiffening / renewing the suspension  springs / rods maybe ..
fuel economy wise if I’m good I get 32mpg but if my right foot plays then it dips to 27/28mpg which I can expect tbh .. Traffic round here is a killer sometimes and will be half the reason if it dips tbh ..
I’ve noticed more exhaust fumes than other cars I’ve owned especially first thing when cold or been stood a few hours , they are not black but normal exhaust fumes just noticed more of but I suppose that’s the Brab set up ..
Also on my list to do is restore the steering wheel controls for the radio as it has a Clarion radio in with some DAB Ariel that doesn’t work and a nasty looking block stuck on windscreen I want rid of at somepoint but that can wait ..
Also I emailed the Dutch company on Black Friday asking how much their head lights were and what I needed to buy to convert mine but never got a reply so I never bothered as their website Was gobbledygook to anon techy like me & had no clue how to work out what I needed to buy - So again that will wait until there’s a clear fixed price for a set to do it ..
after all these years of waiting I can honestly say “ I love my Brab”

Good to know that you are lovin it....

Exhaust fumes...should be no more than any other car...
Is that from inside you notice it ? If so then it may be the gasket
between the turbo and the exhaust system. A few Brab owners;
like musmart; found that the gasket was blowing and/or
the joint itself was loose.
But careful there as the nuts that hold it tight tend to seize and
the studs they are on can shear if you tighten or even loosen them.
(It's been covered in a few posts on here....somewhere.)

As for your missing out on the projector headlight deal,
I've sent you a PM with a possible solution/answer  ;)

Bigger engine capacity and turbo compressing the air means more water vapour out the back than a smaller engined n/a car :)

Brabus Alloys (If I could ever find a set for sale!)

don't bother... they look nice but are softer than a soft thing! I BENT 1 wheel when I hit a pot hole. the pot hole was that big a normal wheel would have cracked. the other 3 were worse than a 50 pence pieces!

Agreed....we all know or refer to the original fit Brabus Monoblock IV
wheels as 'cheese wheels'...the reason is they're just about as soft.
Sure they look good, but they 'flat spot' if they encounter a large
enough stone or pothole or kerb, plus they corrode badly.

The cost to refurb of a set would be better spent on a complete
set of new alloys. Okay, so that wouldn't be for Brabus or any
Smart wheels, but there are some nice one's around that will
last longer and be a lot stronger.

Having said that, the ONLY Smart wheels that were an option fit
on the Brabus that are not soft; and are to be honest 'the dogs gonads';
are the Monoblock A's.  Thing is they are as rare as 'rcoking horse pooh'.

Another set of large Smart wheels that were also an option, but
also rare now, were the 17"x7" Grandlines.

For Smart wheels, see https://www.forfour.co.uk/forum/index.php?topic=77.0

My favourite ever wheels are the Aero alloys fitted to the SAAB 900 16V Turbo S Aero.  Very similar ones appeared later on the 9000 Aero.  If my cheese-wheels ever grate themselves on the bumpy roads of the Highlands, I'd try to find something in a similar style with which to replace them.
