Here we go...

http://www.autoexpress.co.uk/news/autoexpressnews/262858/smart_fortwo2_scooped.html

...Apparently that's the new fortwo+2 that will hit the roads in the next couple of years.

I am concerned about the engines and gearboxes. Nissan is renowned for using CVT, so if the gearbox ends up being a tip CVT... well at least the shifts will be smooth but the performance will be hampered.

The only thing ForFour'ish about that is the big front grill !
It looks 'piggin' ugly to me....so you won't see me ordering one...it's so like that stretched Mitsubishi 'i' thingy.
You know...I'd rather have the American inspired concept model...without a Tridion..... than this 'daschound' dog looking monstrosity.
But that's just my opnion. Some will like it....(those without any taste that is...LOL)

I could be wrong but that looks complete bobbins, yet another Autoexpress fabricated story.
At best that is someone's mock up and very early proposal.

Latest News about the new A class merc which will share underpinnings with the new smart forfour:  ;D

http://wot.motortrend.com/mercedes-benz-beginning-development-bmw-megacity-competitor-21864.html

"Mercedes' electric vehicle will reportedly follow in the MegaCity Vehicle's footprints,
using rear-wheel-drive with a rear-mounted drivetrain. It's believed that the small EV
will ride on the next-generation Smart ForFour underpinnings, which itself will use
 Nissan's small V-platform."

To be honest I really do like the design of this new A class and I think dynamically its
much better looking than the old clumsy A class.
I certainly hope the new forfour will look more like this than that horrible snott green clay model... ;)
