So my 454 is approching 210,000 miles. Even without the "oopsie" wih the speedo replacement, I feel the engine valves are overdue their check and tighening. I'd like to take the car somewhere that has experience in doing this before, ideally somewhere in the North West of England but not against further afield if needed. Alternatively, I am not against trying it myself if it relatively straight forwards to do.

iv had a look at the top of the engine with the cam cover off and it appears that the shims need replacing and its a cam off job. its not like some engines where you turn a screw and it adjusts the clearances.

id certainty recommend S2Smarts, just for the reason iv yet to find a specialist in the north that will work on the forfour. iv emailed a few and most of them refuse to work on the forfour, 1 very rudely told me to do one and stop emailing them as they wont touch forfours, even for a plug in job!
