MPG - yippee!!
« on: February 21, 2011, 12:10:08 AM »

Had to take the BRAB to Essex this weekend as the Zafira is STILL in the garage
(4weeks and nearly £1600 so far)

Filled up with V-Power before I went and filled up before leaving Essex tonight !

Worked out my MPG...........41.....!! Now that's a surprise :)
(especially as the trip computer that was reset at fill up states 33mpg)

Now just got to improve my 23mpg around town !!

That's better than fortwos. ;)

I just got a 53mpg from my 1.3, which isn't too bad considering I don't drive economically most of the time.

Schimples....take out your 'naffed' back seat and the weight saving will give you a good few mpg more.....LOL...
(you'll really be surprised how heavy the back seat is, and the difference in performance and fuel saved when it's out !)
Oh and another 'trick' to saving fuel....move your seat back one notch....so ya don't push on the 'loud' pedal so hard....
Seriously though....if you're determined to save money (and you need to, to pay for the repairs to that 'GM money box'
in the garage....AND for your new back seat) then suggestions like that, that can save you a few bob are worth considering....
if only just for a few months matey.    ;)

Ooooohhhhh you may be one of the lucky few. The people we bought the Smart off had a Scenic and was nothing but trouble, the only reason they sold the Smart was space. I have three good friends who have Scenics and they have spent more money keeping them on the road than they would care to mention.

I too know of a couple of peops who have had Scenic's and Grande Scenic's and had problems with them,
but as usual in all these 'arguments you'll always hear about the bad ones...
never about the good ones, so the impression everyone gets is that all of them are bad,
whereas in fact it's only a small minority.  If it was indeed that bad then you can bet
there would have been a recall or the motoring press would have had a massive field
day and rambled on and on about how bad that particular car/vehicle is until it got
sorted, or at worst dropped by the manufacturer !

I still get a consistent 50mpg out of my OEM cdi (95).

I wonder if the new Brabus front spoiler will help?

Hopefully ours will stay ok .. we know 2 others with them ( ones who recommended the car to us before we got it )  and they've had no bother either

like any car i suppose you get good and bad depending what shift made them as in any production line ..

in your App Store, search "Smart MPG"

do you think it has a "fudge factor" like +25% if you put in that your car is a cdi 451?? haha!!
